“Welcome to Bennett’s Curse… you’re up next.” The man at the door motioned for us to move forward and step into the box outlined on the floor.
“Ok, now I’m getting a little scared,” I said to my friend as I grabbed his hand, squeezed it hard and told him “never let go.” The man explained the rules to us in a low creepy voice like the groundskeeper at a cemetery. I mean his voice was spot on terrifying! After he ran through all of the rules, he told us about the game that was going on that night. The object to the game was to find the demon baby in the haunted house as you walk through all of the rooms. If you find this baby you will win a bunch of cool prizes. I wish it took him a little longer to explain the rules is what I thought to myself as he asked us if we were ready to enter. I, of course quickly said NO! as we walked towards the curtain lol. The man then pulled back the curtain and said “nice knowing you” followed by an evil cackle.
We walked into the first room; it was super dark. My heart was beating super fast, I started to whisper the Lord’s prayer. “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.” I put my hands out to feel where I was going and…
BOOM!
Ok, ok, so I have to stop there because I don ‘t want to ruin it for everyone. You have to go and experience this insane but awesome haunted house for yourself. Bennett’s Curse Haunted House located at Eastpoint Mall in Baltimore Maryland is back for its 18th season! Though it is a small family owned and operated business, this haunted house is not small at all!
Depending on the pace you walk, it could take about 10-20 minutes to complete the full house and make it out on the other end. There are arrows that glow in the dark to guide you from one scary room to the other. Pull back a curtain or turn the corner; you never know what you’re going to be walking into next or better yet, what will be walking toward you.
The time, work and attention to detail that the creators put into each room is impeccable! Congratulations to Jill Bennett, Alan Bennett and their super creative team on another successful season. You can tell that they paid close attention to all of the scary monsters, show, and movies this year because they recreated the best scenes and merged them all into a boiling cauldron of fear and scares!
Tis the season to be scary! You will not find a better or scarier Haunted House in Baltimore! So, if you are going to a Haunted House this year, you would be insane not to go to the scariest one of the scariest on the Eastcoast, Bennett’s Curse Monster Fest!
