If you are not a morning person, you will become one quickly. Cafe Lift, located at 428 N 13th St has one of the best breakfast/brunches I’ve ever had. Now if you are a brunch person, then you are in luck because they serve brunch all day, every day. They are open 7 days a week from 8 am to 3 pm so just get there before 3 pm of course.
We arrived a little after 10 am, and it was a little busy, but they seated us right away. The manager and the staff were friendly; they seated us by the window so that we could get some great images using natural lighting. When our server brought us the menus, I noticed a date on the top of the specials menu, so it looks like they change their specials menu every weekend. I actually really like that; it keeps people excited about their brunch.
Everything on the menu looked delicious, so we had a little bit of everything. We started with two eggs served with multigrain toast, potatoes with your choice of any meat, so we decided to try the spicy fennel sausage.
We also added a side of blueberry pancakes and seasonal fruit. The pancakes were made with fresh blueberries and topped with powdered sugar, ummmmmm!
Next, we decided to try the Lift Salad, mixed greens, walnuts, local tart apples, dried cranberries, grilled chicken breast & green goddess dressing. Not only was the salad very colorful and great to look at, it tasted great also. The fresh sweet fruit paired very well with the chicken and the Green Goddess dressing.
We wrapped our excellent experience and meal with the best cappuccino and latte served in the cutest orange mugs. Delicious!
If you are in Philly, don’t skip brunch but if you do, don’t worry because you can get it any time before 3 pm at Cafe Lift.
